Make Music New York, the annual summer solstice day of free music in New York City is set to happen on Friday, June 21, 2013!
This year, Make Music NY offers more than 1,000 free outdoor concert events and installations, ranging from live performances from the likes of hip hop icon Rakim to the New York premiere of the late experimental composer Cornelius Cardew’s 1970 masterpiece The Great Learning (which will traveling between seven public spaces over nine hours in Lower Manhattan.)
Beginning at noon on the 21st, the entire city will be buzzing from locations including Central Park to Bryant Park to the High Line back uptown to Carnegie Hall, and many locations around town!
